Of the two roads to CANTON the main road is reported to be impassible after mile 27 because of deterioration, JAPANESE damage, landslides and lack of bridges. The condition of the road for the first 27 miles from KOWLOON is as follows:

In a pressmen interview held at the PENINSULA HOTEL yesterday afternoon MARSHAL PAN HUA KUO, leading member of the CHINESE DELEG TION that attended the HONG KONG "ENEMY SURPENDER CERIMONY", answered a series of questions as follows:-

Is there such a SINO-BRITISH negotiation in progress as to enable CIA to accept enemy munitions and resources in HONG KONG? It is true that the CISE representative is negotiating with the BRITISH authorities about acceptance of enemy resources, etc., in EONG HONG; but the negotiation is only limited to certain details, as the fundamental principles regarding the question were sometime ago outlined in a memorandum agreed upon by the representat- ives of CHINA, BRITAIN and MRICA in a conference held in CHUNGKING. The chief mission of our delegation is therefore to see the memorandun fully carried out. An investigation is being made by the BRITISH GOVERSTBIT with a view to finding out the amount of enemy arms and resources in 20 KONG. However, it has been suggested that a SINO- BRITISH CO.
